Kroger, PwC Help Prepare Scholars for Workforce

Spring 2016 | Houston

During winter break, Posse Houston and its Career Program partners Kroger and PwC offered Scholars opportunities to network and cultivate their professional development skills.

Kroger hosted two workshops at the Posse Houston office with a team of seven human resource specialists. A branding session with interactive workshops on developing a personal brand was followed by résumé writing sessions for Scholars. The workshops were such a success that one Scholar is being considered for an opportunity post-graduation at Kroger, and several others have applied for internships.

A “Scholar Mingle” at the Posse Houston office connected Scholars with each other to discuss courses, summer opportunities, and other resources for academic and professional development. Events like this are designed to foster a robust network among Posse Scholars that will continue beyond college.

PwC hosted an interview skills workshop that highlighted different types of interview questions and how to prepare for each.

“I thought I would know all about interviewing, but I learned so much,” said Ryan, who attends The University of Texas at Austin where he majors in international relations.

Posse Houston is grateful to Kroger and PwC for their commitment to developing the next generation of leaders.
