Posse Boston Celebrates Summer Internships, Career Program Partners

Over 70 guests including Posse Scholars, staff, internship supervisors, partners and supporters came together to fete the career-enhancing experiences of Scholars at Posse Boston’s 2017 Internship Celebration.

For the 11th consecutive year, Putnam Investments hosted the event.

Naideline Raymond, a junior Scholar at Bryn Mawr, shared a reflection on her time at Biogen, a global biotech company. Biogen’s research focuses on therapies for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

During her internship, Naideline worked alongside scientists to develop her own project using organotypic brain slice cultures to explore the behavior and appearance of microglia cells.

“After graduating from Bryn Mawr, I’m going to apply to a joint MD-PhD program,” Naideline said at the event, a new goal stemming from her internship experience.

More than 60 companies and organizations provided summer internship opportunities for Scholars through the Posse Career Program.
