Putnam Investments Sponsors Awards Ceremony For Decade

Spring 2017 | Boston

This past January, Putnam Investments was the lead sponsor of Posse Boston’s Awards Ceremony for a remarkable tenth year in a row. Over this decade of sponsorship, Putnam has provided Posse with almost $500,000 in grants and sponsorships and other forms of support.

"Our support of Posse comes naturally at Putnam,” says Cathy Saunders, the head of registered investment advisory business at Putnam. “We have a lot in common, and together we are completely aligned. We believe in diversity. We believe in the spirit of mentorship. We believe in excellence and getting better every day. We believe in making great investments. In doing these things, we have the opportunity to change people's lives. Posse is an extension of who we are and what we stand for."

As a committed Career Program partner, Putnam annually provides internship opportunities for Scholars to work alongside company leaders. This year, Putnam offered two Posse Scholars full-time positions upon graduation. Issifu Suhununu, a senior at Centre College, and Henry Kwan, a senior at Bucknell University, will both be employed as technology associates focusing on software development.

“I am very excited and thankful to work at Putnam Investments after graduation,” says Henry. “Studying computer science and engineering for the past four years at Bucknell has been no easy task. After endless hours in the library, getting a software engineering position at Putnam makes me feel like my hard work has finally come to fruition.”

Putnam also generously hosts numerous Posse Boston events, including the annual Internship Celebration and the first-round interviews of the Dynamic Assessment Process, Posse’s unique evaluation method for selecting Scholars.

“I have seen firsthand the tremendous positive impact Posse Scholars have made in their communities and our organizations,” says Stephen Denny, the vice president of diversity and inclusion at Putnam. “Putnam’s partnership with Posse is an investment in our next generation of leaders and we are proud to support their work.”
