Scholars Took the Field for Summer Olympics

Posse Bay Area hosted its second annual Summer Olympics at Balboa Park in San Francisco. The event was attended by nearly 40 Posse Scholars, family and friends, Posse alumni and staff.

The afternoon of activities celebrated the beginning of summer and anticipation of Scholars’ journey to Boston University and the University of Puget Sound.

Friendly competitions included relays such as a potato sack race and donut-eating contest. The day ended with an energetic game of kickball.

“It felt like I attended a family reunion,” says incoming freshman Puget Sound Scholar Semaj King-Polk. “It was heartwarming to see my family having so much fun with everyone.”

Semaj was part of the Puget Sound team who ultimately took home the donut trophy. “My Posse’s support and loud cheering motivated us to win.”
